The Italian chambers of commerce with interests around the world were using a desktop application to manage their member databases. These databases required weekly updates which was not only time-consuming but also led to inconsistencies in data.
We used web-based technology to develop an extranet. Not only can the extranet be accessed by all member Italian chambers worldwide, its log-in system provides personalized data security by identifying which chamber is logging-in and automatically allowing them to modify only their appropriate information.
One secure server now handles the application. One team performs its simple management tasks, and Italian chambers of commerce around the world access up-to-the-minute information with the click of a mouse. This has greatly reduced maintenance costs and eliminated errors.
